Privacy Policy
Last updated: 29 September 2026
This policy explains what personal information Help Grow Your Business ("we", "us", "our") collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We only collect the information we genuinely need to respond to your enquiry and to understand how our website is used — nothing more. This policy is written to comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1. Who we are
Help Grow Your Business is a business growth consultancy run by Stewart Maxwell, based in Guildford, Surrey, United Kingdom. We are the "data controller" for the personal information described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used.
You can contact us about this policy or your data at any time:
- Email: smaxwell@helpgrowyourbusiness.co.uk
- Phone: 0800 612 2044
- Post: Help Grow Your Business, Guildford, Surrey, United Kingdom
2. What information we collect
We collect personal information in only two ways:
a) When you contact us. If you fill in our contact form or book a discovery call, we collect:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number (if you provide it)
- Your message and any details you choose to include about your business
- The date and time of your enquiry
b) Automatically, when you browse the site. With your consent via our cookie banner, we collect anonymised or pseudonymised usage information through Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity — for example which pages you visit, how long you spend on the site, your approximate location (country/city level), device type and browser. This information is used in aggregate to improve the website; we do not use it to identify you personally.
We do not collect special category data (such as health, racial or political information), we do not run a newsletter or mailing list, and our blog does not accept comments or sign-ups.
3. How we use your information and our lawful basis
We use your information for the following purposes:
- Responding to your enquiry — to reply to your message, arrange a discovery call and provide the services you ask about. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (responding to a request you have made) and, where it leads to work together, steps towards a contract.
- Managing our relationship with you — keeping a record of our correspondence so we can follow up appropriately. Lawful basis: legitimate interests.
- Understanding and improving our website — anonymised usage statistics via Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. Lawful basis: your consent, given through our cookie banner. You can withdraw this at any time (see section 7).
We do not sell your information, rent it out, or share it with anyone for their own marketing purposes.
4. Who we share your information with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the website and handle enquiries. Each processes data on our behalf under appropriate contractual safeguards:
- Lovable Cloud — hosts our website database, where enquiry records are stored. Data is held within the EU (Ireland).
- Resend — delivers email notifications of new enquiries to us and a confirmation email to you. Resend processes your name, email address and message content to deliver those emails.
- Calendly — if you book a discovery call, your booking details (name, email, chosen time) are processed and stored by Calendly under their own privacy policy. We do not store a separate copy of your booking on this website.
- Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity — provide website usage statistics, only where you have consented to analytics cookies.
Some of these providers are based outside the UK (for example in the United States). Where your data is transferred internationally, it is protected by appropriate safeguards such as the UK–US Data Bridge or standard contractual clauses.
We may also disclose information where the law requires us to, for example to regulators or law enforcement.
5. How long we keep your information
We keep enquiry records for as long as needed to manage our relationship with you and for a reasonable period afterwards, so we can respond if you come back to us. We review the enquiries we hold periodically and delete those that are no longer relevant. If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so (see section 8).
Analytics data is retained only for the standard periods set within Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity and is not used to identify you.
6. How we protect your information
Enquiry data is stored in an access-controlled, encrypted database hosted in the EU. Access is limited to the business owner. Our website is served over HTTPS, and access to the administration area requires authenticated sign-in.
7. Cookies
We use a small number of cookies, which you can control through our cookie banner:
- Essential cookies — required for the site to function (for example, remembering your cookie choice). These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics cookies — Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity, used to understand how visitors use the site. Only set with your consent.
- Marketing cookies — we do not currently run any advertising or retargeting cookies. If this changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.
You can change or withdraw your cookie consent at any time by clearing your browser's stored data for this site, which will show the cookie banner again on your next visit. For more detail, see our Cookie Policy.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate
- Ask us to delete your information
- Ask us to restrict or stop using your information
- Object to us using your information
- Withdraw consent at any time (where we rely on consent)
- Receive your information in a portable format
To exercise any of these rights, email smaxwell@helpgrowyourbusiness.co.uk or call 0800 612 2044. We will respond within one month. There is no charge.
If you ask us to delete your data, we will remove your enquiry records from our website database and from our email inboxes, and delete the related entries in our email delivery service's logs. If you booked a call through Calendly, we will also delete your booking record there.
9. Complaints
